They may not have seen the Easter Bunny but the local and international guests visiting Chelinda Lodge over the Easter holiday did enjoy excellent wildlife sightings in Nyika National Park.
Central African Wilderness Safaris guests staying at Chelinda Lodge while visiting from Malawi, Holland, Japan, Pakistan, Nepal, Scotland, Sri Lanka and South Africa were treated to great sightings of wildlife on the rolling grasslands of the Nyika plateau. Some of the main highlights were a magnificent bull elephant walking along the main road, a leopard seen out in the middle of the airstrip, a serval as well as several hyenas. The most exciting of all was a sighting of the largest of the big cats, which has not been seen in the area for many years – two lions were also seen near Chelinda Lodge in Nyika National Park.
Nyika National Park is found in northern Malawi and is home to impressive populations of wildlife, such as large herds of roan, eland, Crawshay’s zebra and southern reedbuck. The guests hosted by Central African Wilderness Safaris at Chelinda Lodge thoroughly enjoyed their Easter holiday spent amidst Malawi’s breath-taking natural beauty.
