From now on, guests at Chintheche Inn will be afforded the opportunity to participate in an exciting guided tour of the Tree Nursery with Central African Wilderness Safaris and Root to Fruit near to Lake Malawi.
Root to Fruit is a social enterprise and carbon offsetting project, which offers businesses and individuals the chance to minimize their carbon footprint by planting trees. Over 10 years, each batch of 10 trees can sequester 2000kg of carbon dioxide emissions and return valuable oxygen to the atmosphere. According to Root to Fruit, “reforestation is the most economical method to offset carbon dioxide emissions. Trees suck carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and reverse global warming, they are natural air purifiers and releases clean oxygen for us to breathe”.
This important project is a collaboration by Root to Fruit, Central African Wilderness Safaris, Southbound Travel and veteran forester, Master Banda. Root to Fruit not only helps to combat climate change but also aids the reforestation of Malawi, contributes toward several environmental benefits and supports communities by providing employment, livelihood and training opportunities.
It is really easy to get involved and help reduce Malawi’s carbon footprint. For only $2 per tree, Root to Fruit will grow a seed and plant the tree for you. For more information, contact Central African Wilderness Safaris below.
