Almost two months after the launch of its highly anticipated Lilongwe-Mzuzu-Likoma Island route earlier this year in July, Malawian carrier Ulendo Airlink (part of the Ulendo Malawi Group) has recently launched ticket sales for its third domestic route operating from its Lilongwe base to the Blantyre airport, Chileka International Airport.
Operating under the IATA airline designator W4, Ulendo Airlink will offer international and domestic travelers the chance to reach the country’s commercial capital at Blantyre airport efficiently, while presenting excellent connections through Lilongwe’s Kamuzu International Airport to South African Airways, Kenya Airways and Ethiopian Airlines international services.
Flights began on 23 September using the Dornier 228 aircraft. The operating schedules have been carefully planned to cut transfer times for international passengers through Lilongwe, provide additional capacity to complement existing commercial air services and extend local travelers more flexibility with excellent same day return flight options.
The carrier’s new Blantyre airport service allows passengers to seamlessly connect to Ulendo Airlink’s Northern Malawi schedules from Lilongwe to Likoma Island and Mzuzu.
Ticket sales have been launched through Ulendo Airlink’s website while partnering with Hahn Air to offer international travel agents the opportunity to book flights using their preferred Global Distribution Systems and enjoy the benefits of IATA’s Billing Settlement Plan to facilitate ticketing of passenger itineraries.
